METEOR 2025: The Cake av Rébecca Chaillon

En bursdagskake er mer enn en sukkersøt godbit pyntet med lys; den er en markør for tidens gang. I følge med illusjonist og kabaretprinsesse Mona LaDoll gjenskaper Rébecca Chaillon handlingen i det å bake en bursdagskake. Hun blir kaken, inntar ingrediensene sammen med ord, og lar seg fortære av publikum. En forestilling om konsumets harde realiteter, om det sosial presset som preger kroppen vår og om spiseforstyrrelser.

A birthday cake is more than a sugary treat adorned with candles; it is a marker of the passage of time. Accompanied by illusionist and cabaret princess Mona LaDoll, Rébecca Chaillon reimagines the act of baking a birthday cake. She becomes the cake, ingesting the ingredients along with words, letting herself be devoured by the audience. A performance which reflects on the harsh realities of consumption, social pressures carved on bodies, and eating disorders.
